Rail Crossings
Quality Concrete Crossings:
Omega is an industry
leader in the production of pre-cast concrete railroad crossings. Our
Innovative design, attention to detail, and unmatched customer service has
led to a partnership with Main Line Railroads, Short Line Railroads, Rail
Contractors, and Port Facilities alike. Our product Line includes the BNSF
/ UPRR “Common Standard” Panel, Custom Turnout and Curved Panels,
Pedestrian Crossing Panels, and Heavy-Duty Crossing Panels.
Our fabricated steel
product line includes, though is not limited to: Switch Point
Covers, Electrical
Access Boxes, Spreader Bars, Sign Poles, Traffic Control Bollards, Coil-Car
Divider Beams and Concrete Forms.
We
were the first in the industry to develop a concrete crossing panel with a replaceable,
attached rubber flange way filler.
Our rubber filler is securely bolted to the steel frame of the
panel, creating a tight seal between the panel and rail. All panels are
designed with track maintenance in mind, and can be installed or removed
very quickly. Our product line
includes, but is not limited to:
Precast
Concrete: Lag-Down, Non-Lag, Curve,
Turnout, Heavy-Duty, DF Track and Pedestrian Crossing Panels.
Steel: Switch Point Covers, Leveling
Ties, Electrical Access Boxes, Spreader Bars, Sign Poles, Traffic Control
Bollards, Spool Jigs and Concrete Forms.
Track Panels:
Prefabricated sections of track built using new or used rail, and
wood ties.
Custom Fabrication:
Whether we work from your drawings and specifications, or design
your product for you, our trained staff is here to meet your needs.
The
BNSF/UPRR crossing panels built at each of our facilities meet or exceed
all main line railroad standards. Our attached rubber flange way design has
been developed with track maintenance in mind, and saves precious time
during installation and routine surfacing.
Serving
over 22 states, Omega Industries is the largest Burlington Northern Santa
Fe Railroad (BNSF) crossing supplier in the United States. We own and
operate manufacturing facilities in the states of California,
Washington, Nebraska,
and Texas.
With
over 1000 track feet of material in stock at each of our facilities, Omega
is ready to serve the needs of Western and Midwestern states.
Exceeding Railroad Industry Standards...
Steel
Frames: ASTM A36 Steel angle provides a
solid frame, protecting concrete edges, and adding to the overall crossing
panel strength.
Durability: Our standard panels are designed to meet
or exceed AASHTO HS-25 Load Rating.
Shunt Resistant:
Each gauge panel incorporates a 3" UHMW “Shunt Break” (spacer) to
assure electrical isolation.
Non-Skid Surface:
A medium broom finish gives each panel the ideal level of traction to
assure safety even in wet conditions.
Non-Crack Sealant:
A concrete sealant is used to prevent cracks and ion migration resulting
from roadway salts. Sealant is
applied to fresh concrete as an aid in curing, hardening, water proofing,
acid proofing and oil proofing each
panel.
Product Identification:
Each panel is clearly marked with weight of rail, weight of panel,
manufacturers I.D. and date.
We
take pride in the quality of our workmanship…
ACI and AAR
M-1003 certified manufacturing plants.
Concrete batch
testing is conducted on a daily basis.
Concrete
batches are computer mixed and weighed.
Cylinder break tests are
conducted daily to ensure maximum
panel strength.
Concrete test results are logged
into a computer database.
Concrete forms are not stripped
until compressive strength reaches a minimum of 2500 psi.
Crossing panels are not shipped
until proper compressive strength is reached.
